PF PERMANENT FILLER*
An Aesthetic Revolution

PF permanent filler* is a revolutionary new product for aesthetic surgery. This unique gel is injected under the skin of the face using a fine needle, where it immediately fulfils its purpose. A simple and gentle alternative to surgery.

It can be a fuller mouth, more beautiful and more prominent cheekbones or smoothing a fold at the corner of the mouth. It can be the dream of having a flat nose lifted, perhaps lessen the visibility of an unsightly scar or eradication of an asymmetry due to injury. All of this – and more – is now possible with PF permanent filler*.

PF permanent filler* is produced by a Danish pharmaceutical company according to the highest international standards of quality and safety control. PF permanent filler* settles as a soft filler under the skin where it is injected. Immediately after injection the doctor can lightly manipulate the area so that the contours are exactly as they should be. After a short time PF permanent filler* feels as if it was a natural part of the skin. The gel is however not absorbed into the body. This means that the procedure does not need to be repeated after a few months, which is the case with other methods. The gel stays exactly where it has been placed, and this is what makes PF permanent filler* unique.

Aesthetic corrections with PF permanent filler* need neither hospitalisation nor general anaesthetic. In some cases the doctor will use a local anaesthetisation for the area which is to be corrected, but normally this is unnecessary. A very fine needle is used, so that the discomfort of the procedure is minimal.

At first, the corrected area may be a little tender and swollen, but this usually subsides after a day or two. You should be able to return to work immediately, but it is advisable to avoid direct sunlight or extreme cold for the first two or three weeks.

PF permanent filler* is suitable for:

• Fuller lips
• More prominent, more beautiful cheekbones
• Larger chin or smoothing a dimpled chin
• Smoothing the nasolabial fold (the line from the nose to the corner of the mouth)
• Smoothing down turned corners of the mouth (downward folds from the corner of the mouth)
• Smoothing furrows between the eyes
• Smoothing deep wrinkles, scar tissue and acne scars.

PF permanent filler* is a completely transparent gel containing 97.5% water and 2.5% polyacrylamide – the same material which is used for making soft contact lenses.

Risks

• Dr Lanzer warns that PF permanent filler* is new to Australia (May 2002) and therefore cannot give any personal guarantees regarding permanancy.
• Allergy or infection to a permanent filler although rare would be potentially serious.
• Polyacrylamide is a theoretical toxin, in a minute dose.
• Many Doctors refuse to use a permanent filler especially around the mouth due to fear that things may change structurally over the years.

BOVINE PRODUCT*
Replacement Therapy

Commonly Asked Questions

Facial lines are caused by the gradual loss of Bovine Product*, a protein that forms the framework of the skin. Every year, more Bovine Product* naturally disappears and the skin above it "settles", leaving lines and furrows.

These facial lines can make us look older, weary and tired and tend to make us feel less than our best. Even though these lines are inevitable, due to either facial expressions, sun damage or the ageing process, they don’t have to be permanent and Bovine Product* Replacement Therapy can actually replenish the skin’s lost Bovine Product*, filling out lines and furrows hence giving you a younger, softer appearance. Bovine Product* Replacement Therapy is also used to soften facial scars and skin depressions or to help you create a particular look – the "Paris Lip" for example.

What is Bovine Product*?

The Bovine Product* in human skin is very similar to the Bovine Product* found in certain animals. As a result animal Bovine Product* has had many medical applications; for example, animal Bovine Product* has been used in sutures for over a century.

What is Bovine Product* therapy and how was it developed?

Bovine Product* Replacement Therapy is a simple medical procedure administered only under the care of a doctor. It has been used around the world for over ten years. It involves the implant material being injected into the area/s of skin that are being treated. It is a simple non-surgical procedure and requires no hospitalisation.

Can anyone have Bovine Product* replacement therapy?

This treatment may not be appropriate for everyone. A medical history may reveal that a patient may be sensitive to the material being used and/or there may be some lines and/or scars that may not respond well to the Bovine Product* treatment.

Everyone must have 2 Bovine Product* tests, at 2 week intervals before the Bovine Product* implant to see how you react to the Bovine Product* and to see if you can have the treatment. This involves a small amount of the Bovine Product* being injected into the skin of the forearm. If you have a reaction to this test, then you will probably not be able to have the treatment.

Does it hurt and will I have to stay home from work?

The injectable Bovine Product* used, contains a local anaesthetic which minimises any discomfort. There will be slight swelling and redness in the area of treatment but this subsides in a matter of hours and some people find that they can have their treatment at lunchtime and return to work that afternoon.

What are the different types of Bovine Product*?

Currently there are three types of Bovine Product*:

Bovine 1 is the thinnest and best for fine lines such as around the eyes.
Bovine 2 can also be injected superficially and is best for lines around the mouth and deeper wrinkles. It can also be used for enhancing the lip and lifting scars.
Bovine 3 is cross-linked and is the thickest and longest lasting. It is best for enhancing lips and the "paris lip" look. Zyplast can also be used for filling deep grooves and wrinkles.

Which Bovine Product* for which sites?

Lip line = Bovine 3
Fine lines = Bovine 1
Naso-labial fold = Bovine 2

FINE POLYSACCHARIDE* + THICK POLYSACCHARIDE*
Replacement Therapy

Fine & Think Polysaccharide* - Natural Beauty. Made in Sweden.

Fine Polysaccharide* is the world’s first non-animal stabilised hyaluronic acid (NASHA) dermal filler. Hyaluronic acid is a support fluid found naturally in human tissue, which when depleted causes wrinkles. Fine Polysaccharide* and Fine Polysaccharide* Kiss (also called Thick Polysaccharide*) work with the body’s own hyaluronic acid reserves to create volume, smooth lines and folds or create fuller lips.

Fine Polysaccharide* and Thick Polysaccharide*, manufactured by Qmed, contain no known allergens or animal proteins. This means there is no need for a test dose.Treatment is immediate. Fine Polysaccharide* comes in the form of a clear gel, which is placed in small amounts into the mid layer of the skin. This gel adds natural volume to those areas where the body’s own hyaluronic acid has been depleted, and smooths the surface.

In most patients Fine Polysaccharide* lasts for 6 to 18 months depending on factors such as skin structure, lifestyle and age.

Treatment with Fine Polysaccharide* is quick and simple with spectacular improvement. Immediate results are clearly visible in all patients after just half an hour.

The areas of the face that can be treated with Fine Polysaccharide* are the lips and the lip border to create definition or a fuller more voluptuous look if desired, as well as lines around the mouth such as oral commissures, bleeding lipstick lines and naso-labial lines or folds. In the upper part of the face Fine Polysaccharide* can be used to treat lines beside the eyes (crows feet) and glabellar (frown lines).
